Dorset Libraries Author Fair

What a wonderful day was had at Christchurch Library Author Fair!  I met so many lovely people and talented authors.  It was great to see the smiles as I sold copies of The Owl Who Lost Its Twoo.  Amongst the visitors were many young people and children who showed a great interest in reading and writing. How fabulous!

I am looking forward to being involved in the Christchurch World Book Night Author Fair on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

This will be a fabulous opportunity to meet many local authors and to look at their work.  Their books can also be purchased on the day.  If you are passing through Christchurch, Dorset on 22nd April do pop in; it would be great to see you there!

World Book Day 2016

I visited Mudeford Infant School on World Book Day to deliver a few workshops to various classes. I loved every minute of it!

It was fabulous to see the children enjoying The Owl Who Lost Its Twoo and the questions which followed were simply brilliant.  The children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about the story writing and illustration process was a delight to observe!

Soon after, I received this lovely message from the school:

Dear Suzie,

I just wanted to say a really big thank you for the recent workshops you did at our school during World Book Day. The children had a great time and to meet a real children’s author was an amazing experience for them. By sharing your book and the writing process with the children it helped them to see that writing wasn’t just a school based activity! It also inspired quite a few conversations about wanting to be a story writer among the children and I have already had quite a few requests to read The Owl Who Lost Its Twoo during my story times with the children!

Thank you so much for your time

Kind regards

Pouncing Panthers Summer Camp         (Mudeford, Dorset)

This Summer has been filled with many lovely times at Pouncing Panthers Summer Camp.  We had such fun looking at techniques in illustration in addition to sharing the steps taken, as well as the inspiration, behind writing stories.

The children, aged between 5 and 12 years old, all gave their best and produced some amazing results! Well done to them all!

Some super sketches of Ollie!

The age old method of keeping fingers crossed and hoping that technology works!

(It did – phew!)

October Half Term 2016 at Pouncing Panthers

I had yet more fun with the Pouncing Panther children this half term. I was very impressed to see such fabulous efforts with charcoal.  Didn’t they do well?
